Ms. Thomas formed this agency to Bridge the Gap and build upon the concept that "it takes a village." We envision a community where each client reaches maximum independence and lives an enriching, purpose-filled life.
Elena's primary specialty is autism. What sets her apart is her understanding of neurodivergent youth. She has the ability to form genuine connections with children on the spectrum and to discern their personal strengths and challenges.
Our approach is based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapeutic principles. Every apsect of communicating and socializing with others is important. This encompasses receptive and expressive communication skills, pragmatic skills, initiating and maintaining positive relationships, reading and interpreting social cues, and self-advocacy.
We understand the necessity of teaching a skill, but also working closely with our clients to use those skills appropriately and effectively. Adaptive behaviors are how one applies the skills they have learned. Our programming is geared towards developing maximum independence through the practical application of skills in the community environment and everyday life.
Learning, social-emotional status, and behavior are closely intertwined. Through tutoring, life coaching, we address the needs of the individual holistically.
We teach academic skills through a client-centered, stengths-based, multi-sensory approach using evidence-based strategies. Programming and supports are customized for each individual.
Behavior and social-emotional skills are taught through direct instruction which includes coaching, practice applying skills in context, and meaningful feedback.
All services are provided in-person. If necessary for health and safety reasons, virtual appointments may be available.
